York Road Project

Homelessness

About Us

We provide 3 critical things needed to help a homeless person have a place they can call home:

A bed: Immediate, safe, short-term accommodation. They should never need to sleep rough!

A base: Run by experienced, compassionate staff; trained to understand the causes of homelessness.

Our backing: Skilled support, tailored to their precise situation, that helps them find (and keep) a long-term home.

Only York Road Project provides all 3 things in our local area. We are their safety net.

York Road Project provides accommodation and support for those facing homelessness in Woking and the surrounding areas. We work with adults from all walks of life, regardless of ability, gender, race, religion, belief and sexual orientation.

Our direct access night shelter accommodates eleven and we have four ‘move on’ properties providing longer term accommodation. We also run a day centre known as ‘The Prop’ welcoming anyone who is experiencing homelessness. Our visitors can take part in workshops and skills training, in addition to accessing housing support and advice.
