Religious Institutions
With roots dating back to 1701, the Archdiocese of Detroit continues to form a Catholic community in southeast Michigan. It administers Roman Catholic parishes and schools within the city of Detroit and Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Monroe and Lapeer counties. In addition, the archdiocese shares the Good News of Jesus Christ with diverse constituencies of the Detroit region through direct ministry. The archdiocese is under the care of The Most Reverend Edward J. Weisenburger, Archbishop of Detroit.
