The state of Black women in Higher Education‚Äôs mental health and wellbeing is under attack and REAL. I could barely sleep with being triggered and having a heavy heart because there is not one Black woman who has not suffered including myself of simply existing in spaces. How many other Black women who names we don‚Äôt know. This is happening not just in senior administration roles but even in entry level positions. We are being eliminated by microaggessions, bias, bullying, hate, burnout, anxiety, depression and hostile workplace environments. Our narratives are real and costing us our lives. Believe Black Women and Protect Black Women ‚úäüèæ My prayers go out to Dr. Candia-Bailey‚Äôs family and all the students lives she touched.
