At Mai-Wel, we believe in creating opportunities and pathways for young people aged 15-25 to thrive. As a Youth Support Mentor, you will deliver tailored one-on-one coaching and mentoring to help participants gain employment or continue their education through the Transition to Work (TTW) program.
What you’ll do:
- Provide individual vocational guidance aligned to each participant’s goals.
- Develop and implement Job Plans to support employment and education pathways.
- Identify and address vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment.
- Deliver group workshops and individual coaching sessions.
- Facilitate volunteering, mentoring, and work readiness activities.
- Connect participants to specialist support services and local employers.
- Maintain accurate participant records in line with program and compliance standards.
- Work towards and achieve key performance indicators and program goals.
Essential:
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supporting youth to achieve their goals.
- Strong case management and administrative skills.
- Proficiency with digital systems and Microsoft Office.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Previous experience in employment services, education, youth work or a related field.
- Knowledge of the local labour market and youth employment trends.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused.
- A strong communicator who can build trust and rapport with young people.
- Passionate about supporting others to grow and succeed.
- Organised and proactive with great planning skills.
