Our LNG client is looking for a Junior Process Safety Engineer in Houston, TX (100% onsite, Downtown). You will be responsible for supporting process safety management elements such as MOC, PSSR, PHA, building siting, and process design.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Provide support on the communication of process safety risks.
- Day to day support of Process Safety Barrier Health reporting.
- Attend Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and assist in managing associated action items.
- Assist in the management of process safety event (PSE) investigations.
- Support assessments in the following processes: Car sealing, Procedures – initial start-up and SOP and red line revisions, Process Safety Events, Permit to Work, SIMOPs, Inhibits/Bypasses, Safety Critical Element management, Pre-startup Safety Reviews, and Monitoring process safety metrics and analyzing data to identify trends and outliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process or Mechanical Engineering. Based on experience, other Engineering disciplines will be considered.
- 3 – 5 years of experience working as an Engineer in an LNG, Petrochemical, or Chemical plant.
- Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of process safety.
- Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
