    Position Summary

    A Natural Gas Field Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the field maintenance, testing and repair of natural gas systems and equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of FHE NGD & NGS equipment. Technicians work in various weather conditions and may be required to respond to emergency situations. If not in the field the technician will support the FHE TX shop with servicing equipment, and other assigned duties.

    Job Description/Expectations

    • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that represents a positive image of FHE
    • Provide support and training of FHE equipment to customers in the field.
    • Be on call during scheduled times and respond to customer calls and field failures promptly.
    • Coordinate repairs, inspections, and product updates with customers.
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect equipment in a timely manner on well site locations.
    • Communicate with customers and location operators regarding equipment operations and failures.
    • Provide data and feedback from the field to the Engineering and Development team.
    • Operate a Company Vehicle in accordance with company policy.
    • Abide by NG site safety requirements.
    • Provide remote troubleshooting support to customers.
    • Utilize 3D CAD software to locate drawings and assemblies for reference.
    • Work with the Sales department to coordinate replacement part orders for customers when in the field.
    • Regular review of job board(s) for corresponding equipment to be tested.
    • Verify serial number(s), working pressure, test pressure & service type correspond on the equipment to the job board
    • Review equipment information prior to starting any testing, to ensure all important information is present, confirm with CORE
    • Trouble shoot leaks in equipment, hydro tester and test caps
    • Set up equipment in the Field or shop and connect equipment to hydro test
    • Perform hydro pressure tests on equipment, and record test results in CORE
    • Maintain records of tests
    • Maintain field test equipment and field vehicle
    • Work at a FHE shop location in various capacities when not needed in the field.

    Knowledge / Skills / Expertise

    • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite including outlook, excel, and word
    • Strong communication and organization skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks
    • Thorough knowledge of measuring tools and part tolerances.
    • Strong background/experience in Natural Gas & Oil Field Products, process, and procedures
    • Strong mechanical background
    • Thorough understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and electrical systems and ability to trouble shoot.
    • Experience with Hydro pressure testing
    • Proficient in safety requirements and processes on well site, while in company vehicle and when in shop environment.

    Environmental Conditions And Work Environment

    • Working long hours between breaks and/or meals
    • Being on call to respond to customer equipment downtime situations.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may or may not be exposed to inclement weather conditions prevalent at the time.
    • May have to manage several projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients and co-workers.
    • May find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
    • Frequent weekends or evening work and travel are to be expected.

    Physical Demands

    • This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, coordination and dexterity, sitting, walking, stooping and handling materials. Climbing on ladders may be required.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds or more without physical restrictions.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision and depth perception.
    • Employees are regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
    • The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection daily.

    • This position may work overtime hours as needed, according to department workload.
