Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

Ledgent Accounting & Finance is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with the month-end close process. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or working toward CPA certification.
• Experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position.
• Hybrid or on-site work environment depending on company policy.
• Occasional overtime during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end).
