Job Description
The Social Media Coordinator for Men’s and Women’s Basketball is responsible for planning, creating, and executing engaging digital content that highlights the student-athlete experience, promotes game day excitement, and drives fan engagement across multiple social platforms. This seasonal role supports the men’s and women’s basketball programs from preseason through postseason, ensuring a consistent, creative, and on-brand presence.
Work with the Digital Media Director to develop and execute a social media content calendar for both men’s and women’s basketball accounts. Capture and publish real-time content on game days, including photos, videos, graphics, and live updates. Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and athletics staff to tell stories that reflect the program’s culture and successes. Create and edit short-form video, reels, and highlights for digital platforms. Monitor social media trends and apply creative strategies to increase reach and engagement. Track analytics and provide reports on growth, impressions, and fan engagement. Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Prior experience managing social media accounts (personal, professional, or through internships). Strong skills in content creation: videography, photography, or graphic design. Familiarity with platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube). Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and game days.
