Job OverviewWe invite you to join our esteemed organization as a Staff Accountant in a flexible remote role. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to manage and analyze clients’ financial data while preparing comprehensive financial statements. You will play a critical role in ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and timely support, all while reporting directly to the Director of Accounting.Key Responsibilities• Prepare and analyze financial statements by collating data from clients and various accounting platforms.• Record and reconcile clients’ inventories on a periodic basis.• Ensure accurate posting of transactions not captured by the POS system in accounting software.• Resolve issues related to mapping and coding by collaborating with accounting software vendors.• Import and review banking transactions, ensuring they are coded accurately in the system.• Record cash transactions, including paid-outs, petty cash, and daily deposits, for clients without a POS system.• Maintain and update cash flow tools for clients utilizing them.• Prepare general ledger entries, maintain accurate records, and reconcile accounts to reflect assets, liabilities, and expenses accurately.• Review profit and loss statements along with balance sheets to make necessary adjustments, including accruals and reclassification journal entries.• Prepare, audit, and file various tax documents and forms, including payroll tax expenses and business tax license renewals.• Conduct quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned clients.• Communicate with relevant agencies to address any outstanding issues.• Provide clarity on accounting and financial inquiries from clients regarding their P&L statements and balance sheets.• Engage in special projects as directed by the leadership team.Required Skills• Strong collaborative mindset to work effectively with clients and team members.• Excellent project management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.• Proficient communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.• High technical proficiency in automated accounting systems and data management tools.• Competence in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.Qualifications• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.• A minimum of one year of experience as a General Ledger Accountant.• Experience in the restaurant industry (front-of-house, back-of-house, or management) is preferred.• Candidates with five or more years of accounting experience (without a degree) will be considered.• Comfort with cloud-based systems and the ability to learn new software packages.• Availability for occasional evening or weekend work, which may lead to overtime opportunities.Career Growth OpportunitiesJoining our team as a Staff Accountant opens pathways for professional development and advancement within our accounting department.
