Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Staff Accountant in a fully remote capacity, where you will play a crucial role in managing financial information and ensuring client satisfaction through exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail. As a key contributor, you will report directly to the Director of Accounting, providing support without any direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements by collecting and interpreting data from clients and internal systems.
• Utilize sophisticated accounting software to accurately record inventories, transactions, and daily deposits.
• Review, code, and reconcile banking transactions while addressing software-related challenges as they arise.
• Maintain cash flow mechanisms, ensuring precision in all financial entries, including assets, liabilities, and expenses.
• Conduct thorough examinations of profit and loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets, implementing necessary adjustments.
• Manage various tax filings, including 8027s, business license renewals, payroll taxes, and sales taxes.
• Execute quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve unresolved issues with tax authorities.
• Offer financial guidance to clients, delivering clear and precise information.
• Participate in special projects as assigned, enhancing the team’s overall success.
Required Skills

• Proficiency in automated accounting systems, databases, and spreadsheet applications.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a General Ledger (GL) accountant.
• Prior experience in the restaurant industry (FOH, BOH, or management) is essential.
• Candidates with significant accounting experience (5+ years) without a degree will also be considered.
• Comfort with cloud-based systems and adaptability in learning new software platforms.
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends, if necessary.
