Join our esteemed international software company and play a pivotal role in our mission to establish Ubuntu as the premier choice in cloud environments, collaborating with industry leaders such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.In this position, you will have the chance to engage with state-of-the-art technologies, contributing to the enhancement of Ubuntu as a platform tailored for modern workloads, including web servers, GPU-driven AI, virtual machines, and containers. Your expertise will help shape the future of open-source cloud solutions while working alongside a team of talented professionals.Key Responsibilities• Develop and maintain automated, reliable image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines.• Design, create, and integrate innovative features into Ubuntu to better serve users in public cloud environments.• Collaborate with a distributed team, taking part in design discussions and conducting code reviews.• Write high-quality, maintainable code to introduce new features and resolve issues.• Architect complex systems and establish integrations with various cloud platforms.• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify issues to uphold system quality and reliability.• Foster engagement with diverse teams across the organization, including the open-source community and commercial partners.• Benefit from flexible work-from-home arrangements, with opportunities for occasional global travel (2-4 weeks per year) for both internal meetings and external events.Required Skills• Proven experience in Python software development, particularly within Linux environments.• Practical knowledge of public cloud platforms.• Proficiency in at least three of the following areas: containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps automation, open-source projects, APIs, Linux system administration, Python packaging, and cloud-based applications.• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.Qualifications• A passion for technology and a commitment to collaborating with driven, diverse individuals.• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.• Self-motivated and responsible, valuing both technical acumen and interpersonal skills.• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.Career Growth OpportunitiesWe are dedicated to fostering your professional development.
