Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Virtual English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ language acquisition in a fully remote setting. We are seeking a committed and TESOL-certified educator to deliver exceptional virtual instruction while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality virtual English language instruction to students, fostering an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere. • Design and adapt ESL curriculum materials for online education platforms to ensure effective and accessible learning experiences. • Collaborate with classroom teachers in monitoring and enhancing the academic progression of English Language Learners (ELL). • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student progress, language proficiency, and required accommodations. • Communicate consistently with students’ families, providing updates and support, including translation services when needed. • Facilitate small group instruction sessions aimed at language development and boosting student confidence. • Create and implement assessments tailored to evaluate the language skills of English Language Learners. Required Skills • Strong virtual communication abilities. • Proficient in developing and adapting ESL curriculum for online platforms. • Experience with online education tools such as Zoom or Teams. • Skillful in conducting small group instruction sessions. • Competent in assessing and evaluating the language proficiency of English Language Learners. Qualifications • A Master's Degree in Education or a relevant field. • Active TESOL certification through the Massachusetts Department of Education (required). • U.S. citizenship is mandatory. • A minimum of two years of experience in a school setting, with a preference for remote teaching experience. • Reliable internet access and a suitable computer configuration for virtual instruction. Compensation And Benefits • This position is structured as a 1099 contract role. • Full-time commitment (35-40 hours per week). • Compensation ranges from \(28 to \)35 per hour for both direct and indirect services, commensurate with experience. • Utilize Zoom Plus, an application compliant with HIPAA/FERPA for secure communications.
