Job Overview Join our innovative team as a Data Engineer II in a remote capacity, working within a dynamic FinTech environment. We are dedicated to harnessing state-of-the-art technologies, including Python and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to transform the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) landscape. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing cloud-based solutions that enhance data pipelines from diverse public and private sources. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement robust data ingestion models, ETL processes, and testing frameworks to ensure data accuracy and availability. • Document and maintain data models and entity-relationship diagrams. • Enhance and manage our existing data architecture to streamline operations. • Create and optimize database schemas tailored for financial and real estate datasets. • Collaborate with research, product, and operations teams to elevate analytical capabilities and improve workflows. • Analyze sizable aggregated datasets, including demographic, geographic, and GIS/spatial information. • Work cohesively with our development team and offshore colleagues across varying time zones, ensuring a productive overlap of 3-4 hours with the US West Coast for team meetings. Required Skills • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. • Strong programming expertise with 2-4 years’ experience in a scripting language (Python preferred). • Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, SQL, or PostgreSQL. • A strong aptitude for problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail. • Capability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, Agile environment. • A commitment to staying updated on emerging cloud technologies, programming standards, and best practices. • Familiarity with finance, mathematics, or GIS/spatial data; experience with Git is advantageous. • Ability to effectively collaborate with a remote team.
