Scope of Position
The CCC-James is committed to continuously improving the quality of care provided to patients as well as the systems supporting research, clinical care, and operations. This position serves as a key component of the Operations Improvement (OI) department. Under the direction of the Manager, Operations Improvement, the Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects within the organization, from the initial ideation through completion. The Project Manager will coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives will monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout the project.
The department of Operations Improvement is located at Ackerman Building, 660 Ackerman Road. Projects will entail traveling to anywhere in the James and Ohio State University Medical Complex. The primary working hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but these times may shift when working on specific projects. An example of this is facilitating a meeting at 7:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.
Position Summary
Responsible for leading, managing and tracking status on large or special projects with hospital leadership and other external entities. The project manager coordinates directly with leadership to develop operational project plans, manage projects plans on a day to day basis, and effectively communicate project expectations to internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery. Includes organizing and managing teams, developing project schedules, managing issues, risks, costs, scope and communicating at all levels of the organization. You will utilize key business skills to guide project leadership and team members in achieving the stated business objectives. The position will also facilitate relationships with internal and external stakeholders and function as the central contact point for all project-related information.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in project management; Master’s degree preferred. Project management certification preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Excellent writing skills and the ability to identify opportunities to disseminate information in an effective and efficient manner. Advanced experience in computer applications, including Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects), and SharePoint. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to build relationships, collaborate, and work in a complex environment to build consensus.
