Project Coordinator
Groundbreaking Foundations Inc. is civil engineering construction contractor based out of Toronto ON, who specialize in Noise barrier wall systems, shoring, and deep foundations.
Groundbreaking is looking for qualified, knowledgeable individual to join our team and develop their career in Project Management as a Project Coordinator. We are looking for a candidate who is ambitious, self motivated, and organized. As a Project Coordinator you will work closely with the Project Manager, project team, clients, and vendors to coordinate day to day on site activities to ensure proper project execution.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager the planning and execution phase of projects.
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and executing construction activities.
- Prepare and submit project submittals and close-outs documents.
- Review, maintain and organize contract documents such as, contract, drawings, specifications, schedules and ensure latest issues are distributed as required.
- Prepare detailed handover packages for various projects.
- Maintain daily work records, job diaries, status reports, site photos and proper claims documentation.
- Prepare and log invoices, purchase orders, change orders and issue logs.
- Coordinate procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of materials in accordance with the terms of the purchase order.
- Coordinate and schedule crews and subcontractors with the assistance of the Operations Manager and Superintendent.
- Prepare and control the project scope, schedule, and budget of a project.
- Oversee Quality Control and adherence to contract specifications.
- Track productivity, job costs, work completed and material yields.
- Prepare monthly progress payment certificates.
- Assist Health and Safety Officer in providing H&S reports and construction plans. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for construction projects. Ensure that both company and clients’ safety standards are adhered.
- Support site crews and provide technical assistance.
- Maintain and promote excellent relationships with the owners, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
- Work on multiple projects at the same time, with a high level of accuracy and time management.
- Communicate to team members in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide support to the Project Manager and project team, as required.
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
- Graduate from Engineering or Engineering Technology program, Conestoga APFM program, or equivalent training.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Project Administrator or Project Coordinator
- Motivated to continuously learn and broaden their engineering and construction knowledge, qualifications, and gain in field experience.
- Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand civil construction drawings, plans, surveys, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, oral, written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in construction considered an asset.
- Proficient Computer Skills in the following programs:
o MS Excel
o PDF Editors/Bluebeam
o AutoCAD
o MS Word
o MS Projects
- Demonstrated ability to write reports clearly and accurately.
- Possesses excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills, organization, coordination, and time management skills.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision and in a remote team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and a vehicle are required.
Work Conditions
· 7am – 5pm availability will be required weekdays
· Overtime/Night Shift as required, premium pay
· Travel to off-site locations (outside GTA) may be required
· Safety equipment will be provided, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
· Hazards associated with the trade
· Work both indoors and outdoors
· Will be exposed to construction sites

Compensation and Benefits:
$65,000.00-$75,000 Salary dependent on experience
