Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
Duration: 9 Month contract to start, potential of extension and/or conversion to FTE.
Rate: $23.00/Hr
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
- Follows protocol for managing prescription refills and medication prior authorizations.
- Perform clinical procedures under supervision of a Provider.
- Follow standard work for patient care processes.
- Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
- timely patient flow,rooms stocked with adequate supplies
- patient information is available in the electronic health record maintenance of all logs and required checks
- implement orders as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely: reflecting patients plan of care.
- Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
- Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.
- Knowledgeable and strictly adheres to HIPAA regulations.
- Ability and willingness to float to other clinics.
- Follows proper reporting protocols for any compliance or incident reporting.
- Works collaboratively with Centralized Services to support patient needs.
- Other duties and responsibilities, not specifically described, maybe defined or assigned from time to time, consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities of the incumbent by management.
- Follows open and closing procedures according to office policies and procedures.
- Greets and checks in patients in a polite, prompt and helpful manner.
- Have patients complete and sign any appropriate forms. Reviews all completed forms for accuracy and updates, including insurance information.
- Collects all copayments, deductibles and outstanding balances according to Policies and Procedures.
- Answers phones, transfers calls and communicate messages from patients to physicians, medical assistants and office staff when appropriate.
- Schedules appointments and verifies insurance eligibility according to Standard Work.
- Checks Out patients, schedule follow up appointment’s and provide patient with appointment related documents.
- Respond appropriately and timely to patient concerns and/or need
- Ensures their work is being performed according to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensures all OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulations are followed
- Regular attendance to work and staff meetings

Min Education: High School Diploma OR GED
