About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our Vancouver team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for:

• Prepare and maintain reconciliations and schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
• Be a key player in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, collaboration with other departments, and variance analysis.
• Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process.
• Prepare Purple business transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
• Ensure the accuracy of recorded transactions through account reconciliations, analysis, and investigation.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit.
• Streamline accounting processes and procedures to create efficiencies and improve data accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with the entire Accounting/Finance team and other departments.
• Assist with other related duties and ad hoc projects as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• CPA Certification or enrollment in a CPA program.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Ability to think critically, identify issues, interpret, and apply accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Humble and eager to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel (pivot tables, SUMIF, and VLOOKUP functions).
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP software.
• Previous experience in wholesale distribution and/or the retail/fashion industry is an asset.
