    The Risk and Compliance at Ageras

    The Risk and Compliance team ensures that our SaaS solutions comply with regulatory requirements while driving the growth of our banking products. Its mission is to anticipate and mitigate risks to deliver a secure and reliable experience for our clients

    To stay on course and achieve these goals, the team consists of around thirty people divided into five team: Compliance, Transaction Surveillance, Security, Compliance projects and Risk & Controls—which you will be part of.

    Here’s a quick look at how the performance marketing team is structured:

    • Maud, our VP of Risk & Compliance,
    • The Risk & Internal control team, made up of your two future colleagues you’ll lead, Estelle and Cyril, working from France : they tackle risk management challenges and ensure robust internal controls that support the secure and compliant growth of our banking products.

    Your Role as a Head of Risk and Internal Control

    This role will lead risk management strategies, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks to protect Ageras’s assets and long-term sustainability. You’ll manage the Risk & Internal Control team, oversee risk assessments, and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

    You will define and implement risk policies, collaborate with internal teams to integrate risk management, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk framework.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include

    • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies.
    • Identify, assess, and prioritize organizational risks.
    • Monitor and report on key risk indicators and trends.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with executives and department heads to address risk-related issues.
    • Lead the development of risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
    • Oversee internal audits and risk assessments.
    • Provide regular updates to the board of directors and stakeholders.
    • Act as the main contact for regulatory and supervisory authorities (ie the ACPR, the French supervisor but also external auditors)
    • Raise employees awareness of risk culture

    Job located in Berlin, with possibility of two remote working days per week

    About You

    • You are an experienced leader with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative environment while driving results and achieving strategic objectives.
    • You are knowledgeable about German regulators such as BaFin, with a strong understanding of their regulatory requirements and expectations.
    • You are highly knowledgeable in risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance.
    • You are familiar with the Payment & Financial Services regulatory environment, including outsourcing obligations, or possess similar knowledge in payment processing activities.
    • You are proactive in anticipating potential challenges and providing strategic solutions to address them effectively.
    • You are a strong leader with analytical skills, able to communicate complex risk-related concepts to diverse audiences.
    • You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for risk management, always striving for improvement.
    • You are fluent in English and German, with the ability to communicate clearly in both languages
